Polokwane Diocesan Priests focus on Mental Health during the Ongoing -Formation

Polokwane diocese priests recently gathered at Materdei Pastoral Centre for a crucial session on mental health, featuring esteemed experts in their professions. The guest speakers included Dr. Molepo PJ, Dr. Molepo M, Occupational therapists, OT Ngwato as well as OT Kgopa, with a special appearance by Dr. Puleng Masegela, a urologist.
During the formation, the priests explored the importance of mental well-being and its impact on their ministry. Discussions centered around recognizing signs of mental health issues, developing coping strategies, and fostering a supportive community. Dr. Molepo PJ and Dr. Molepo M shared insights from their expertise in psychology, highlighting the significance of emotional intelligence and self-care for priests. OT Ngwato and OT Kgopa contributed valuable perspectives on occupational therapy’s role in maintaining mental health. The session also featured Dr. Puleng Masegela, who discussed the intersection of physical and mental health, emphasizing the need for holistic care.
