Bible Study course was initiated by Rev. Fr. Sunny John (SVD), director of Mater Dei Pastoral Centre in 2008, the first graduation ceremony was held in 2010. This is a ten months study programme; it starts in January of each year and ends in October, an average of 35 to 40 students register for this course every year. Thus far, the Centre had conferred certificates to 350 graduates with the latest being 36 graduates who had their graduation ceremony on Saturday November 2023.The students were from our sister dioceses, that is, Polokwane, Pretoria, Johannesburg and Witbank. Previously, students from the other sister dioceses Rustenburg and Tzaneen had registered for this course.
At the end of each year course there is a formal graduation ceremony wherein His Lordship Right Reverend Bishop Madimetja Jeremiah Masela of the Catholic Diocese of Polokwane bestows completion certificates to the graduates, the graduation ceremony is proceeded by a Holy Mass celebrated by the bishop. This year marks the 13th graduation ceremony of the Bible Study course at Mater Dei Pastoral Centre.
